Germany, which is also known as the Federal Republic of Germany, is located in Central Europe. Its borders are defined by the Denmark, the Baltic Sea, and the North Sea to the North, the Czech Republic and Poland to the East, Switzerland and Austria to the South, and the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, and France to the West. The country enjoys a mild, seasonally temperate climate. Its country contains the largest population in the entire European Union.

The history of Germany can be documented back to 100 AD, when records of a place called Germania report a thriving economy. Throughout history, Germany has been influenced by various invasions, civil wars, and international wars. In 1949, the country was divided into East and West Germany, with the government building a thick wall, called the Berlin Wall, between the two regions. In 1990, the two regions were unified once again. Today it is a member of the European Union.
